The well-known film of Brooklyn native Ralph Bakshi (famous among other for the Fritz The Cat cartoon cinema adaptation) was released in 1977. Mixing sci-fi and fantasy, Wizards is the first animated movie produced by the 20th Century Fox. It costed less than 1 million dollar. Influenced by Vaughn Bodé, Ralph Bakshi realized an animated movie which tells the story of the fight of the Wizard Avatar to save the Montagar country from his twin brother (Blackwolf).
