SHOW RECAP- Graffiti in the beginning – Spacejunk gallery Lyon

The Spacejunk gallery  (Lyon- France) presents “Graffiti In the Beginning”, a show dedicated to the swish art collector and galerist Willem Speerstra collection. The gallery show the art of 17 NYC trainwriters throught many canvas and sketches painted between 82 and 92 (means…no writers come back canvas but real canvas from the NY golden age). This exhibition is also the occasion to have a look at 10 pictures cars taken by the trainspotter godfather Henry Chalfant. A pitty it was not the orginial pictures but ones of 10 laser copy of it (sales at 1000 euros anyway…). Many great stuff and of course only big names (Dondi, Futura, Blade, Min, Lee, Kel 1st…)  that I take in pictures for the ones that don’t have the chance to visit this show.

For those of you that want to have a look at the vernissage, check the post done by Lez and Matcha HERE.

The exhibition runs until November 2nd. If you are in Lyon, it should be a good place to go. Info about the show and the Spacejunk galleries  HERE.
